How to dodge awkward questions about your future (*click here to comment)
It’s a Tweeter!
“You don’t need to have your entire future figured out today.” - @AddictiveDau #GetAddictedToTheGoodStuff
Ever experienced that awkward moment where someone you know asks you what you’re “doing with your life” in an area that you don’t feel so great about right now?
Maybe you’re on a 1st date, for example, and they ask you about your career.
At the moment, you happen to be stuck in a mundane temping job, and feel instantly ashamed that you’re not doing something more exciting with your life – especially when your date seems to really love what they do.
Or, maybe you’re having Sunday lunch with your family, when your grandma asks if you’re “seeing anyone nice yet?”
You’ve been single for 2 years now and would really like to be in a relationship, and being asked this question (which is always delivered with a pitying head tilt) just makes you feel like something is fundamentally wrong with you.
If you ever feel “put on the spot” when people ask about an area of your life that’s not where you want it to be, today’s Life Nugget was created especially for you.
Sometimes, we don’t know what our 5 year plan for our career or love life looks like – and we don’t always need to know.
In our experience, the best thing you can do for your future is simply be fully present in where you are today, and let things unfold naturally.
Now, we’d love to hear from you in the comments below: What area of your life are you currently dodging questions about, and how can you positively re-frame it with our handy **Right Now** tool?
(N.B. You need to watch the vlog for that to make sense!)
Hope this helps ☺
