Hate Your Job? What To Say When People Ask What You “Do” (*click to comment)

It’s a Tweeter!

Hello ADs,

Picture this:

You’re sat at the reception dinner at the wedding of an acquaintance.

You’ve been making small talk with the good looking guest next to you for a while now, when – of course – they ask the dreaded question:

“So… What do you ‘DO’?”

For a lucky few, this question is a delight to answer; they get to wax on lyrical about how they spend all day every day getting paid to do what they love.

For many of us though, this question makes us want to crawl under a big rock and take a nap.

Maybe you’re a musician at heart, but are having to wait tables alongside your gigs and songwriting.

Maybe you’re a sculptor, but are also having to work an office temp job to pay the rent.

Or, maybe you make a shed load of cash in your city job, but feel like you’re selling your soul in the process.

Whatever your day-to-day vocation, today’s Life Nugget will give you a handy tool to turn this awkward moment into an inspiring, soulful & passionate conversation.

Although we live in a culture that puts the ‘Career’ on a pedestal, we personally find that:

On our wavelength? If so, we’d love you to join in the conversation in the comments below – how do people react when you “re-frame” the dreaded “what do you do” question?

Loads of love,

P & J xx
